A few photos of my afternoon with Eli. I took him on his first “official” bike ride to his new elementary school which he’ll be attending (Kindergarten) next month. WOW! Next month. Time is flying by! What a fun day and one I’ll never forget. Enjoy.

A few photos of my afternoon with Eli. I took him on his first “official” bike ride to his new elementary school which he’ll be attending (Kindergarten) next month. WOW! Next month. Time is flying by! What a fun day and one I’ll never forget. Enjoy.
Let me start by saying this post is long overdue! My apologies. Without going into “geek – mode” and explaining
all that has transpired the past two weeks I just have two words – Back Up! As in, make sure you have all your precious photo and video memories saved on your computer backed up not just to one location but two and more if possible. Trust me on this as it saved my bacon.
Sixteen days ago, I lost two hard-drives – one on my server and another on a 8 month old laptop within two days. Yes, two days! And yes, one drive from a practically brand new “high-end” laptop. It happens. Fortunately, I have a robust backup system in place that saved all my data. Why so long to get back up? Mainly because I implemented a few important changes along the way and, restoring 40K+ photographs plus thousands of personal documents takes time – a lot of time. Not to mention tracking down the original problems. I’m just thankful no files were lost in the scary process. So what does this have to to with the beautiful photographs below…
The day after Christmas I had the wonderful opportunity to shoot a session with some dear friends Gail, Derek and family. Normally, I try my best to get proofs uploaded to a private gallery as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, my drives started failing the day after our shoot. About day 10 of my computer nightmare I thought I had everything solved and was successful getting their gallery online. Shwooo … thankfully. However, that evening my laptop drive went down … you get the idea. The most important part is that we’re back up and running and all I can say is
THANK YOU Gail and Derek for your unbelievable patience and friendship. Love you guys!
Before I forget … A big congratulations to Derek for being named the Head Coach of the women’s soccer team at Vanderbilt University. A well deserved honor! Now, let’s get to some of my favorites of this beautiful family. Blessed indeed!

This past weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph a beautiful family that is dear to my heart. Mike & Jennifer have two beautiful children that are so much fun to photograph and oh-so photogenic. You will never meet two parents that are more committed to each other, their family and most importantly, their faith. I am blessed to call Mike and Jennifer my friends!
As with all my photo sessions this one was not rushed at all. I love that! What impressed me most was the kids willingness to let me photograph them long after most kids are past their point. I know my kids would have said “enough Dad!”
My philosophy is we’ll take all the time we need to capture exactly the photo you have in mind. Of course, I’ll guide everyone along the way to insure we get the staple of shots needed but after that it’s pretty wide-open and… that’s normally where the fun begins. In fact, the best photographs most always come from those natural, un-posed – spontaneous moments. This shoot was no exception as you’ll see below.
Thanks again Mike and Jennifer! I can’t wait to do this again. Robbin and I are so looking forward to our “kid-free” dinner together with you both. Here’s a few photos for you to enjoy! Jim <><

Tonight, I had the pleasure to speak with the women of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN.The wonderful Godly women of Wallace are sewing dresses and pants for the orphans of Bon Repos Orphanage in Haiti.
I left early tonight as I wanted to get a post and a few photos uploaded for these hard-working gals. However, in my haste to leave I now realize I didn’t get a count of how many dresses / outfits will be made. Hopefully, someone will leave a message in the comments so I can update this post. I know there were at least 10 sewing machines going strong so I’m sure several little girls will have something new to wear very soon.
Thank you so much gals for your obedience, heart and faith for our awesome God. I know the children of Bon Repos will be so happy to receive their new clothes. Robbin and I are so thankful and to be a part of Wallace Memorial and the strong mission efforts they serve both locally and abroad. We are blessed to serve side by side with each one of you. Blessed indeed!
Stay tuned for more updates and photos…
UPDATE: 26 new dresses were sewn tonight. Amazing what can be accomplished in just one evening. Photos of the new dresses soon!
